Teacher Professional Development
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAYS
The schools under the Generations Christian Education’s umbrella understand that to continually inspire students to pursue academic excellence and to create global citizens of Christian faith requires the tireless commitment of all staff to work together. Continual professional development (CPD) days not only allow teachers ongoing improvement in their professional skills and knowledge, but the opportunity for staff to communicate and improve their ‘teamwork’. Several days a year, which parents are informed of at the beginning of the Academic Year, have been set aside for professional development.
INDIVIDUAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Generations Christian Education, including Island Christian Academy, encourages all our staff members to further develop professional skills that benefit our students. Each full-time teacher can apply to the Principal for support towards the cost of mutually beneficial and relevant professional development activities.
